When I Grow Up - Exploring My Pathway & Career Opportunities

‘When I Grow Up’ (Previously Girls Day Out) - This year we want to include the boys and are making the event bigger and better! The event is open to year 9 students.

The event aims to demonstrate to young people the wide variety of career, educational and vocational pathway options available to them in the non traditional gender specific careers; as well as give young people the opportunity to consider options they may not have considered previously.

‘When I Grow Up’ celebrates youth culture and aims to inspire young people and encourage them to reach their full potential. Students will have the opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers who will talk about different interests and job fields; there will be a motivational speaker, workshops for girls and boys, panel discussion with past students, entertainment on the day and the exhibition demonstrates a suite of support services which are available to young people in the local regions of Bayside, Glen Eira, Kingston, Stonnington, Port Phillip and Yarra. We are looking to have 400 attendees. It will be held on Friday, 25 November 2011 at Kingston Town Hall, Moorabbin.
