Visual Arts (Block Credit) Units 3 & 4

The competencies from the Visual Arts, Craft & Design Package involve accredited training in the areas of Visual Arts, Craft & Design.

Are you unsure which creative field you wish to pursue? Want to enhance your knowledge and folio towards a specific course? This program incorporates elements of visual arts, craft and design. This program is folio based and offers you the opportunity to develop your skills and folio as well as the opportunity to exhibit your works in an exhibition.

(Wednesday 1.30-5.00pm).

Duration

1 year.

Work Placement

Students will gain industry exposure through industry tours and guest speaker opportunities.

Selection Criteria

Student suitability decided by home school/ referral by home school to program.
2012 students will be required to attend a mandatory information session at Sandringham College on 11th November 2011 with the trainer to discuss program expectations.
You will be required to present a folio of samples of work completed.
Enrolments available for Year 12 Students Only
NB: Units 1 & 2 do not need to be completed in order to enrol into this program

Sample Program Outline

  • Research and critically analyse history and theory to inform artistic practice
  • Research and experiment with techniques to produce sculpture
  • Document the work process
  • Select and prepare work for exhibition
  • Research and experiment with techniques to produce drawings

Materials

To be confirmed upon enrolment.
Basic stationery is required for written components.

Contribution

VCE/VCAL credit: Up to four units: a Units 3 and 4 sequence (Block Credit) each year (new course – credits to be confirmed).

Future Employment Opportunities

Completion of this Certificate III in Visual Arts, Craft & Design units provides a pathway for students into the industry. With additional training and experience, future employment opportunities may include Artist, Graphic Designer, Curator, Sculptor, Creative Director, Interior Designer, Architect, Games Designer and Ceramicist.
