About the Applied Learning Awards
What are the Applied Learning Awards?
The 2010 Applied Learning Awards recognise the outstanding efforts of:
- Secondary students undertaking applied learning programs – Vocational Education and Training in Schools Certificates (VETiS), Victorian Certificate of Education (VCAL) and School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs)
- Secondary schools offering applied learning programs
- Businesses that provide students or schools with workplace experiences (such as work placements, school based apprenticeships and traineeships or industry tours)
Who is eligible to enter?
- Students - who have undertaken or completed an applied learning program during 2010. Students can be nominated by schools, trainers, group training organisations, employers or others connected with their training.
- Schools - that are located in the Bayside, Glen Eira or Kingston region and have offered applied learning program/s (ie. VET Certificates, Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning or School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships) to their students. Schools nominate themselves as they are best placed to answer questions about their applied learning offerings. However, employers, trainers, parents, group training organisations or others may want to encourage schools to apply!
- Employers - that have supported local students and/or schools by offering workplace experiences such as work placements, school-based apprenticeships and/or industry tours. Employers can be nominated by schools, trainers, group training organisations, students, parents or others.
